For this year’s @tiff_net feature, we wanted to create a cocktail that celebrates cinema itself, rather than drawing inspiration from one particular film.
Technicolor is our take on a classic Pisco Sour, designed as a visual tribute to the evolution of film. The cocktail is dyed a deep black and topped with a crisp layer of white foam, creating a dramatic black-and-white contrast. Viewed from the side, the dark cocktail beneath the white foam is also meant to evoke the look of a roll of film.
From above, two overlapping circles of red and blue appear against the white surface, introducing colour into an otherwise monochromatic drink and representing cinema’s transition from black and white into colour.
The result is a cocktail that feels playful and visually striking while still being elegant enough for Abrielle. More than simply a TIFF-themed drink, Technicolor is our tribute to filmmaking and to the transformation of Toronto each September as the city comes together to celebrate cinema.
It will be available throughout TIFF , September 10–20.
Ingredients: Pisco, Galliano Vanilla, lime juice, simple syrup, egg white, and for the garnishes it's Peychaud’s bitters and blue curacao
