#Repost @twomomsinmotion ・・・ You live in Toronto and want to do something different? Stratford is such an easy, underrated little escape, whether it’s with the kids or even as a date. We spent one night in Stratford, and this little town completely surprised us. It’s only about a **1.5-hour drive from Toronto**, but if you don’t feel like driving, **GO Transit now offers year-round train service from Union Station to Stratford.** You can hop on, spend the day here and head home that evening, or make it an overnight getaway. Which honestly made us realize this would be SUCH a cute day-date idea too. Start with coffee and breakfast downtown, walk through all the little local shops, do the **Chocolate Trail**, get out on the Avon River for a canoe or paddle, and then do the **Savour & Sip Trail**. You get vouchers to different local businesses, collect things like meats, cheeses, sandwiches, drinks and sweets, and basically build your own picnic as you explore town. Then find a spot by the river, lay everything out and just… chill. 🥹 That was probably one of my favorite parts because the trail takes you into all these cute little places you probably wouldn’t have discovered otherwise. A family weekend. A spontaneous day trip. A full-day date without the kids. Or just an excuse to get out of Toronto without booking a flight or spending a fortune. It’s charming, walkable, the food was good, and there was way more to do than we expected. Definitely one we’ll be coming back to. 🤍 Want to recreate our trip? Comment **STRATFORD** and we’ll send you our complete itinerary! **Save this for the next time you’re sitting in Toronto thinking, “What should we do this weekend?”** 📍 Stratford, Ontario Hosted by @visitstratfordon
