TERRONI QUEEN - THE OG BAR⁠ ⁠ It’s funny to say, but the truth is we started making real money when a gentleman offered us a “calciobalilla” (foosball table) to have in the shop. Over espresso, we decided to move boxes of product (we used half the shop as storage, with boxes stacked on ugly grey shelves) somewhere else and put the table behind the shelves. This foosball machine brought everyone in.⁠ ⁠ We were open at 9AM, and we closed at 6PM. Everyone smoked cigarettes constantly, and the ashtray at the end of the bar had to be cleaned hourly. We were making a lot of panini, espresso, and cappuccino, and selling deli meats, which was fine. The foosball machine alone almost used to cover our rent at the time.
