This weekend, the park is excited to welcome back the Kitchener Blues Festival to the lawn! The Kitchener Blues Festival is a volunteer-driven, not-for-profit organization that has been bringing live music to our community for more than 25 years. And The Boathouse is a venue for the 12 Bar Blues! This weekend, we’ll be open a little later, bringing you music, stories, food and drink! August 7 - 11pm KING SNAKES Students of the blues rock tradition, Kapuskasing based band, The King Snakes’ repertoire consists of classic staples, songs from contemporary heroes and original compositions. They are no strangers to driving riffs, extended jams and fiery solos. August 8 - 11pm HARRISON KENNEDY A founding member of the million selling Detroit Soul Super Group “The Chairmen of the Board” with whom he toured the world, as well as appearing on Soul Train, American Bandstand and the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. August 9 - 1pm WORKSHOP - “GOIN’ TO TORONTO” MIKE MCKENNA BIOGRAPHY Joined by Jay Moonah, Mike McKenna will play songs and share stories from his new biography “Goin’ To Toronto.” Join Mike for a trip back in time to the early days of the Canadian rock scene.
